The research was conducted by using downdraft gasification type, palm kernell shell as raw material , with continuously material flowrate in Laboratory of Energy Conversion State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya. The research began with the preparation process such as drying the raw materials to minimize the mouisture content. Research continued with the gasification process using variation of air fuel ratio ( AFR ) of 0,79 , 0,86 , 1,08 , 1,22 , 1,30. The observed process parameters is the temperature in the reactor gasification, syngas flame visualization and stability engine condition.
