  • Biogas is a fuel produced through the process of anaerobic fermentation of organic matter with the help of bacteria methanogenesis. This experiment was conducted to design the power conversion equipment cow manure into biogas by a continuous process using Digesters Fixed Dome Type. Biogas produced from the fermentation process is used as fuel to generate electricity Generator Set. The purposes is to analyze the capability or performance Fixed Dome Digester design results on the rate of production of biogas per day, the composition of methane gas on the content of biogas per day, the value of equality biogas compared to other fuels and electricity capacity generated and to obtain Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT) as one one variable in determining the level of reliability Fixed Dome Digester. This experiment showed among other HRT in this process was 9 days and biogas produced has a composition Metane 53.22%, 37.46% carbon dioxide, 0.92% Oxygen, Nitrogen and Hydrogen 7.98% 0.04%. It is known that the longer the process in the digester, the composition of methane in the biogas will be increased or, in other words, the better the quality biogas. The calorific value of 1 m3 of biogas produced, equivalent to the heating value of from 0.49 m3 Fuel Oil and 0.48 m3 Natural Gas. Production of biogas per day ranges from 1,716 m3 and capacity of 0.286 kW of electricity produced.
