- NARRATIVE FUNCTION ANALYSIS OF RORO JONGGRANG FOLKTALE USING PROPP’S THEORY (Tiara Nanda Gayatri, 2016, 35 pages, 4 tables) The object of this research is Roro Jonggrang folktale. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the morphology functions of Roro Jonggrang folktale based on the Propp’s morphology theory. The writer used qualitative descriptive method. To ease the analysis, the writer also used table of application. The result of this report is Propp’s narrative morphology function can be applied to Roro Jonggrang folktale . The tale contained a total of twelve functions with one initial situation and the functions did not follow the same sequence as mentioned by Propp. The main moral messages in Roro Jonggrang folktale were communicated through the characters.
