  • The purpose of this final report is to look at the influence of the reference group towards decisionstudents General Conversation choose Global English Language Center (GELC) Palembang. Writer wanted to know whether the reference group actually had a role in influencing prospective students take the decision to choose tutoring. The results obtained from this study is that there was indeed a reference group influence of variables on the decision tutoring students choose Global English Language Center (GELC) Palembang by 57.10%, while 42.90% is influenced by other variables which not examined by the writer. While the variable reference group that most influences the student's decision is variable friend (X2) that is equal to 60.2%, followed by family and relatives variable (X1) of 18.30%, and the latter is variable working group (X3). Through this study the authors give advice to companies forkeep an eye on to add to the promotion or advertising in order to attract the attention of all circles, especially that still looks weak as the family and relatives, as well as working groups. Such as advertising through online media, or through brochures and banners that are more creative and attract prospective students to read, so as to arouse the interest of students to join.
