  • Bunches palm oil fiber is the natural fibers used as reinforcement of composite board. Adhesive fibers used are recycled polypropylene (RPP). This study aims to determine the ratio of the mass of bunches palm oil fiber and RPP that have the best quality in the making of composite and to perceive the effect of variations in the mass of the physical and mechanical properties to the composite. The making of composite was first by immersion the fiber in hexane solution followed by immersion in H2SO4 and finally alkaline treatment with NaOH. Compounding mixture of bunches palm oil fiber and RPP in the composite molding process with a ratio of 10%:90%, 20%:80%, 30%:70%, 40%:60% and 50%:50%. Mass calculation of bunches palm oil fiber and RPP was done to obtained composite mass that fitted in the mold composite of 20 cm : 15 cm :0,5 cm made of brass. The result shown that the physical properties of the composite had a range density value of 0,014 gr/mm3 – 0,018 gr/mm3, the point of water absorption 1,553% - 14,31 %, the water content 1,08 % - 3,468 %, the point of thickess swelling 11,40% - 21,76 %. The result of the mechanical properties of composite include a composite strength values of 2,93 N/mm2 – 12,07 N/mm2 and compressive strength value of 4,07 N/mm2 – 9,33 N/mm2.
