- Galingale Stem is the part of Galingale plant which underutilized so it has potential to be a composite (fiber board). Galingale Stem contains cellulose which can be use as a filler to produce composite (fiber board) with Recycled Polypropylene (Rpp) matrix. In the manifacture of composite (fiber board) is done by the process of extraction and hotpress by variying mass of fiber and matrix to know its effects on the quality of the fiber board based on JIS A 5905-2003. From the result of the analysis of physicals and mechanicals properties, the optimum composition obtained in comparison Fiber : Rpp at 40 : 60 with water content of 2,1276 %, water absorbtion of 23,76 %, density of 13,7267 gr/cm2, thickness swelling at 14,5161%, tensile strength at 26,3426 kgf/cm2 and impact strength at 21,346 kgf/cm2.
