- The final report entitled " Linear Speed Measurement System with Data Storage Mileage on Electric Cars ". Making the report is intended that the author can create a speed measurement system as well as data on the electric car mileage. The system used to measure speed and distance data are rotary encoder system. In the rotary encoder system there are components called optocoupler which serves as pulse counters are calculated from the encoder disc and sent to the microcontroller for processing. In the encoder disc there are 36 pulses / hole, with a distance between pulses / hole is 10 °. So, if the optocoupler counting 72 pulses in 1 second means the rotation speed of the encoder is 2 Rps (Revolutions per second) or two rounds in 1 second and then converted into units of velocity Km / Hr. Meanwhile, to measure the distance of the data, which is calculated by the optocoupler pulse will be multiplied by the distance between holes in the encoder disk. Suppose optocoupler has been counting pulses as many as 72 times, the distance traveled by the spokes of a wheel at 21 cm is as far as 263.76 cm. The distance calculation results obtained using a predetermined formula.
