  • This research investigates the industrial agglomeration in Indonesian manufacturing industry using the Ellison-Glaeser Index as a parameter of industrial agglomeration. The object of this research is the manufacturing industry in all provinces in Indonesia for 5 years from 2006 to 2010. The purpose of this study was to determine which provinces that provide significant value-added industry. It also discusses the condition of industrial concentration in each year. Furthermore the growth of concentration in each industry is analyzed from year to year. The results of this study shows that contribution of value-added industry is dominated by the industry that comes from the island of Java because the condition of industrial agglomeration are more concentrated in Java.
