Aceng Abdullah. M.Sc. as the main supervisor and Rachmaniar, S.Sos., M.I.Kom as the companion supervisor. This study titled “Framing Analysis of Diphtheria Disease on the Online News Site tribunnews.com and detik.com” is a qualitative research with a hermeneutic or interpretation approach that focuses on knowing how online news sites tribunnews.com and detik.com do framing news about problems about diseases diphtheria. The object of this research is news about diphtheria on online news sites. This study aims to determine; 1) how tribunnews.com and detik.com define the problem, 2) how tribunnews.com and detik.com diagnose causes, 3) how tribunnews.com and detik.com make moral judgement, and 4) how tribunnews.com and detik.com emphasize the resolution of problems regarding reporting on diphtheria. Data collection techniques carried out are by way of library study followed by conducting news analysis based on predetermined criteria. The data analysis technique uses the Robert M. Entman framing analysis method. The results of this study reveal that 1) in defining the problem, tribunnews.com explained in general about what is meant by diphtheria and provides information that diphtheria is a deadly disease. detik.com explains that diphtheria is a dangerous disease and immunization is the key to eradicating the virus. 2) in estimating the cause of the problem, tribunnews.com said that the cause of the spread of the virus was widespread because people were still unaware of what diphtheria was, what caused the disease, how to prevent it. detik.com said that people still do not realize that diphtheria is a deadly disease and there are still many people who refuse immunization. 3) moral decisions in the news of tribunnews.com are tribunews.com explaining that the role of parents is very important in the process of resolving the spread of the diphtheria virus and detik.com also said that parents must actively participate in the implementation of immunization carried out by the government. 4) solving the problems provided by the two online sites has similarities by means of immunization because immunization is the only way that can be done to overcome transmission and parents who must be active in all programs provided by the government regarding this diphtheria poet.
