- Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai pandangan masyarakat Jepang terhadap homuresu di Airin-chiku. Sesuai dengan latar belakang masalah, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalis kehidupan homuresu dan pandangan mesyarakat Jepang terhadap eksitensi homuresu. Dalam melakukan analisis terhadap data yang telah dikumpulkan, penulis menggunakan teori habitus. Selian itu, penulisan skripsi ini pun didukung oleh teori lainnya, yaitu teori konflik. Serta dikaji menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kehidupan homuresu di Jepang tidak jauh berbeda dengan gelandangan di tempat lain. Namun dengan adanya bantuan dari masyarakat dan pemerintah, kehidupan homuresu di Jepang tergolong sejahtera. Jumlah homuresu dari tahun ke tahun pun menurun. Masyarakat Jepang melihat homuresu sebagai masyarakat yang tersingkirkan dan memiliki status sosial yang rendah secara ekonomi. Tindakan yang dilakukan masyarakat terhadap homuresu dengan pandangan ini terbagi dua yaitu memperlakukan homuresu secara semena-mena karena mereka adalah kaum rendah dan memperlakukan secara baik-baik karena merasa kaum yang berada di bawah harus dibantu. This study examines Japanese society opinion towards homeless in Airin-chiku. In relation with the background of the problem, the study objected to analyze the life of homuresu and Japanese society opinion towards them especially in Airin-chiku. In the analysis of collected data, the author uses the habitus theory and also utilizes the conflict theory. The research method used is descriptive method. The results of this study indicate there is not much difference between the homuresu in Japan and the homeless in other countries. However, with the help from people, community and goverment, homuresu life in Japan is prosperous. The number of homuresu decreased year by year. However Japanese society sees homuresu as a marginalized society and economically has low social status. The Japanese society’s action towards homuresu with this point of view is divided into two: people who treat homuresu arbitrarily because they has low social status and people who treat them well because they are care about homuresu and feel like have to help them.
