- ABSTRACT This research was done to find out the symbol and the meaning in the song Ue Wo Muite Arukou and Maigete Goran Yoru No Hoshi Wo by Rokusuke Ei using semiotic method by C.S Peirce. The method used to analyze this novel is descriptive analyzing method, the method using to describe facts which later followed by analysis, and in this research used C.S Pierce semiotic method. The results of the study authors found many symbols are present on both tracks. Such as the symbol in lyric song Ue Wo Muite Arukou, the “cloud” has a meaning of fantasy that it is has distance and hard to reach, and there is also a symbol of “sky” who has a meaning of top goal from wishing. And then, in lyric song Miagete Goran Yoru No Hoshi Wo, the “light” has a meaning of how to reach the hope, and there is also symbol of “star” who has a meaning of some shines hope though it is less to reach.
