- ABSTRAK Skripsi ini berjudul “Tindak Tutur Ilokusi Ekspresif pada FilmGulliver’s Travel.” Fokus dalam skripsi ini adalah memaparkan jenis-jenis tindak tutur ilokusi ekspresif dan konteks tuturan tersebut pada film Gulliver’s Travel. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis tindak tutur ilokusi ekspresif sehingga pembaca dapat memahami tuturan yang dimaksud oleh para tokoh dalam film tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif yaitu data disajikan secara sistematis berdasarkan speech act theory dan contexts. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dari percakapan yang dilakukan oleh para tokoh dalam film tersebut, baik tokoh utama maupun tokoh figuran. Teori dasar yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah speech act theory yang berhubungan dengan tindak tutur ilokusi ekspresif yang digagas oleh Leech (1989) dan Searle ( 1979) serta teori konteks dalam tindak tutur yang digagas oleh Cutting (2002). Dari hasil penelitian, diperoleh bukti bahwa percakapan yang dilakukan oleh para tokoh dalam filmGulliver’s Travel mengandung jenis tindak tuturan ekspresif berupa thanking, congrulating, praising, condolling, apologizing, dan blaming serta jenis-jenis konteks berupa konteks situasi, latar belakang pengetahuan , dan co- text. ABSTRACT This research is entitled “Tindak Tutur Ilokusi Ekspresif pada FilmGulliver’s Travel.” The focus of this research is to describe the kinds of expressive illocutionary acts and to describe the kinds of contexts the speech act in the Gulliver’s Travel movie. This research is performed to see the the kinds of expressive illocutionary acts so that the reader can understand the meaning of the speech act spoken by the characters in the movie.The method used in this research is qualitative one which presents the data systematically based on speech act theory and its context. The data is gathered by means of dialoges performed by the characters in the movie, either the main character or figurative one. The ground theory of this research is speech ach theory by Leech(1989), expressive illocutionary act by Searle ( 1979) and speech act contexts by Cutting (2002). From the result of this research, it is proved that the the dialoges perfromed by some characters in the movie contains the kinds ofexpressive illocutionary acts such as thanking, congrulating, praising,condolling, apologizing and blaming. The kinds of context such as situational context, background knowledge context and co – text context.
