- ABSTRAK Skripsi ini berjudul “Bahasa Sunda di Kecamatan Maja Kabupaten Majalengka Provinsi Jawa Barat : Suatu Kajian Geografi Dialek” adalah penelitian tentang geografi dialek yang bersifat deskriptif. Adapun masalah yang diangkat adalah bahasa Sunda di Kecamatan Maja Kabupaten Majalengka. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, bahasa sunda di Kecamatan Maja ini merupakan variasi geografis atau dialek geografis bahasa Sunda tersebut. Dari delapan belas desa yang diteliti di kecamatan Maja, diambil enam desa sebagai sampel penelitian, yaitu desa Maja Utara, Anggrawati, Cihaur, Cengal, Cipicung, dan Cieurih. Skripsi ini mendeskripsikan dan memetakan variasi bahasa Sunda di Kecamatan Maja, yang mencakup unsur-unsur Fonologi, Morfologi dan Leksikal. Dari pemetaan unsur bahasa diperoleh gambaran bahwa sebaran unsur bahasa berbeda-beda. Ada unsur bahasa tersebar luas di beberapa desa yang diteliti, ada pula yang tidak demikian. Ada unsur bahasa yang merupakan pinjaman dari bahasa lain, seperti Bahasa Indonesia (BI), Bahasa Sunda Umum (BSU), dan Bahasa Sunda Maja (BSM), diperoleh simpulan bahwa inti daerah pemakian kosakata BSU terdapat di Desa Maja Utara dan inti daerah pakai kosakata BSM terdapat di Desa Cihaur dan Cieurih. ABSTRACT The Title of this thesis is “Bahasa Sunda di Kacamatan Maja Kabupaten Majalengka Provinsi Jawa Barat”. The study describes of geographical dialect. The focus of the study is the sundanese in Kecamatan Maja Kabupaten Majalengka. Based of the research, sundanese in both Kecamatan Maja belongs to the geographical variation or and geographical dialect of the sundanese language. Based eighteen villages in Kecamatan Maja, it took as sampel research the speak of sundanese language of Maja in six villages; Maja Utara, Anggrawati, Cihaur, Cengal, Cipicung, and Cieurih. This thesis describes and maps of the dialect variety of sundanese at the district of Maja. Which include the element of phonology, morphology and lexical. The mapping element shos that the spread of these language element shows that the spread of those language elements is different. Some element spread over the villages where the research is conducted but some other not, there some local language element there ( the sundanese language in Maja ), besides language elements that are borrowed from other languages as the Indonesia and of sundanese vocabulary general (BSU). In the sundanese language n district Maja, it is concluded that the use of vocabulalry BSU core areaslocated in the village of Maja Utara and the core are of vacabulary use BSM is Cihaur and Cieurih.
