  • Minor Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) is idiopathic and disorder mouth condition which most frequently appears in oral mucosa among the populations especially in second decade. There are a lot of predisposing factors which may cause to Minor RAS and one of them is nutritional deficiency especially Vitamin B12. The purpose of this research was to see the effect of each dosage on Minor RAS, and also to see the effect of 50mcg and 100 mcg on frequency of Minor RAS This research was using randomised; double blind, parallel design experimental. This research was done to 30 students from Faculty of Dentistry in University of Padjadjaran, Sekeloa. All 30 samples were divided into two groups and each group was given 100 mcg and 50 mcg of Vitamin B12 tablet and instructed to take Vitamin B12 for 1 month. Mann Whitney test was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there were difference numbers of sample who still have ulcer between two groups after a month. As statistically, there was no significance difference in 50 mcg (p-value=0.073), there was significant differences significant in 100 mcg (p-value=0.000) and there was no different significance in data between 50 mcg and 100 mcg Vitamin B12 (p-value =0.367) for ulcer and different significance (p-value=0.011) for non ulcer. Conclusions of this research are there is effect of 100 mcg in preventing Minor RAS, there is no effect of 50mcg in preventing Minor RAS and 100 mcg VitaminB12 more effective in preventing Minor RAS compared to 50 mcg VitaminB12.
