  • PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN Saccharomyces cerevisiae TERHADAP KUALITAS FISIK, pH DAN PERSENTASE KERUSAKAN SILASE RUMPUT GAJAH (Pennisetum purpureum) CV TAIWAN Hadianto ABSTRAK Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan Saccahromyces cerevisiae terhadap kualitas fisik, pH dan persentase kerusakan silase rumput Gajah (Pennisetum purpureum) cv Taiwan. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di Balai Inseminasi Buatan (BIB) Lembang dan di Laboratorium Nutrisi Ternak Ruminansia dan Kimia Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor, Sumedang dari tanggal 22 November - 18 Desember 2012. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah P0 = 10 kg rumput gajah + 0 % S. cerevisiae, P1 = 10 kg rumput gajah + 0,3 % S. cerevisiae, P2 = 10 kg rumput gajah + 0,6 % S. cerevisiae, P3 = 10 kg rumput gajah + 0,9 % S. cerevisiae, P4 = 10 kg rumput gajah + 1,2 % S. cerevisiae. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan dosis S. cerevisiae dalam silase rumput Gajah (Pennisetum purpureum) berpengaruh nyata (P < 0,05) terhadap kualitas fisik, tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap pH dan persentase kerusakan silase. EFFECT OF ADDITION Saccharomyces cerevisiae ON PHYSICAL QUALITY, pH AND PERCENTAGE OF DAMAGE OF THE ELEPHANT GRASS (Pennisetum purpureum) CV TAIWAN SILAGE Hadianto ABSTRACT The research was conducted to study the effect of addition of Saccharomyces cerevisiae for physical quality, pH, and percentage of damage to the elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) cv Taiwan silage. The research was begun from 22 November - 18 Desember 2012 at Artificial Insemination Centre (BIB) Lembang and Laboratory of Ruminant Nutrition and Feed Chemistry, Faculty of Animal Husbandry Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor, Sumedang. The research used an experimental method with a Completely Randomizes Design, consisted of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were P0 = 10 Kg elephant grass + 0% S. cerevisiae, P1 = 10 Kg elephant grass + 0,3% S. cerevisiae, P2 = 10 Kg elephant grass + 0,6% S. cerevisiae, P3 = 10 Kg elephant grass + 0,9% S. cerevisiae, P4 =10 Kg elephant grass + 1,2% S. cerevisiae. The result of this research indicated that the increase of dosis of S. cerevisiae in the silage of elephant grass has significant effect (P < 0,05) for physical quality, but there were no influenced to the pH, and percentage of damage.
