  • The distance of the maxillary sinus with the roots of the teeth is not something that could be seen visually. Maxillary sinus approximation with tooth root is a condition where the roots of maxillary teeth being approximated the maxillary sinus floor. The main purpose of this research is to get the prevalence of the maxillary sinus approximation with tooth root on panoramic radiograph. The research method used in this research was descriptive method with purposive sampling technique. The samples were 150 panoramic radiographs taken from Radiology Department in RSGM, FKG UNPAD starting from the month of January 2013 until March 2013. Data were collected and analyzed hence being described in few tables. In conclusion, the closest proximity of tooth root apex towards maxillary sinus is the maxillary first molar with the prevalence of 73%. This is followed by maxillary second molar with the prevalence of 65% and then second maxillary premolar with 32% and the last is first maxillary premolar with 8%.
