  • Ameloglyphics is a very new field that studies the enamel print patterns. Enamel prints patterns are unique to each individual. The objective of this research is to describe the enamel print pattern of permanent maxillary central incisors in Deutero-Malay sub race male individuals and provide information for the need of forensic odontology. A total of 31 samples were enrolled in this simple descriptive study using purposive sampling method. The enamel print was recorded using photomicrograph technique, analysed using SourceAfis biometric-based software and then classified according to Manjunath classification. The research showed that wavy-branched enamel print pattern is the dominant enamel print found in permanent maxillary central incisors in Deutero-Malay sub race male individuals while whorl-closed is the least dominant one. As a conclusion, enamel print patterns vary among Deutero-Malay sub race male individuals and thus the uniqueness of the enamel print could be also used as a valuable tool in forensic science for personal identification.
