- The articular eminence density of suspected Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) patients is estimated to change, whilst Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is one of the supportive examinations used to describe the density of articular eminence. The aim of current study was to describe the density of the articular eminence in suspected TMD patients by using CBCT radiograph. The current study was a descriptive study that used purposive sampling technique. A total of thirty CBCT radiograph samples from year 2008 until 2014 from RSGM FKG Unpad were recruited and analyzed. The data were then summarized in tables. The result showed that there were two categories of marrow and bone area distribution of the articular eminence. Percentage distribution according to age group for female were 99,09% (20-30 years old), 98,98% (31-40 years old), and 96,42% (41-50 years old) whilst the precentage distribution for male for the same age categories were 97,74%, 95,94%, and 85,58% respectively. The conclusion of this research was that, the density of the articular eminence in suspected TMD patients will likely to decrease rapidly according to age and male tend to has lower density compared to female.
