  • Kulit buah delima (Punica granatum L.) merupakan sumber asam elegat dan asam galat yang memiliki aktivitas penghambatan tirosinase, serta punicalagin yang merupakan fenolik dalam jumlah dominan pada delima. Senyawa ini dapat menghambat reaksi oksidasi L-tirosin dan L-DOPA dalam mekanisme pembentukan melanin. Pembentukan melanin merupakan penyebab dari hiperpigmentasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat formulasi sediaan krim antihiperpigmentasi yang mengandung ekstrak kulit buah delima yang baik, stabil, efektif, dan aman digunakan. Metode penelitian meliputi penyiapan ekstrak kulit buah delima, formulasi sediaan krim antihiperpigmentasi, evaluasi fisik sediaan, pengujian stabilitas fisik, pengujian aktivitas penghambatan tirosinase, pengujian cemaran mikroba, dan pengujian iritasi sediaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit buah delima dapat diformulasikan menjadi krim antihiperpigmentasi yang baik, efektif, dan aman. Namun, krim yang mengandung ekstrak kulit buah delima 1% menunjukkan ketidakstabilan fisik. Sediaan krim dengan berbagai konsentrasi ekstrak kulit buah delima (0,5% dan 1%) efektif untuk menghilangkan noda di wajah yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai IC50 terhadap tirosinase secara berurutan sebesar 363 ppm dan 290 ppm.Pomegranate rind (Punica granatum L.), a source of ellagic and gallic acid, has tyrosinase inhibitory activity also contains punicalagin which is the dominant phenolic component in pomegranate. These compounds could inhibit the oxidation reaction of L-tyrosinase and L-DOPA in the mechanism of melanin formation, the cause of hyperpigmentation. The purpose of this research intended to create the formulation of antihyperpigmentation cream from pomegranate rind extract which is good, effective, stable, and safe. Method of the research was including the preparation of pomegranate rind extract, formulation of the cream with various concentrations of pomegranate rind extract, physical evaluation, the test of physical stability, the test of inhibitory activity of tyrosinase, microorganism evaluation, and irritation evaluation from the cream. The result shown that pomegranate rind extract could be formulated in an antihiperpigmentation which is good, effective, and safe. However, the cream which contained 1% extract didnâ€TMt stable physically. The result of the research shown the cream with various concentration (0,5% and 1%) of pomegranate rind extract was effective to remove the stain on the face which was indicated by the IC50 value of tyrosinase was 363 ppm and 290 ppm respectively.Keywords : Antihyperpigmentation,Cream, Pomegranate rind extract (Punica granatum L.)
