- Pemakaian alat kontrasepsi suntik merupakan cara yang banyak digunakan oleh para ibu. Akan tetapi disadari ataupun tidak selain memiliki keunggulan alat kontrasepsi ini juga memiliki efek samping, yang salah satunya adalah peningkatan berat badan bagi akseptor. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara lama pemakaian alat kontrasepsi suntik DMPA dengan peningkatan berat badan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analitik dengan desain penelitian potong lintang atau cross sectional dengan teknik pengambilan sampel simple random sampling. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 47 responden. Uji statistik dengan menggunakan uji Corelation Pearson Product Moment diperoleh hasil nilai Asymp.Sig (2-sided) adalah 0,140 dengan nilai signifikansi α > (0,05), nilai korelasi sebesar 0,219 yang berarti bahwa tidak terdapat korelasi antara lama pemakaian KB suntik DMPA dengan peningkatan berat badan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disarankan bagi puskesmas untuk memberikan informasi tentang KB suntik kepada akseptor, sehingga dapat dijadikan bahan pertimbangan dalam pemilihan alat kontrasepsi yang tepat. ABSTRACT The use of injection contraception is a method that is widely used by mothers. But whether we realize it or not, besides having the advantage of contraception, it also has side effects, one of which is an increase in body weight for acceptors. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there was a relationship between the duration of use of DMPA injection contraception and increasing body weight. The type of research used is descriptive analytic with cross sectional design with a simple random sampling technique. The number of samples in this study were 47 respondents. Statistical tests using the Corelation Pearson Product Moment test obtained the results of the Asymp.Sig (2-sided) value of 0.140. Significance value α > (0.05), the correlation value is 0.219 which means that there is no correlation between the duration of use of DMPA injection KB and the increase in body weight. Based on the results of the study, it can be suggested for primary health provider to provide information about injection KB to acceptors, so that it can be taken into consideration in choosing the right contraception.
