  • The object in the batik industry centers located in the village Kalinyamat Wetan Tegal, which is a collection of home industries engaged in manufacturing of batik cloth. From the initial survey results about 20% disability products are not the same color as the one with batik other, less comfortable fabric quality and strength are easily torn fabric so there are some who returned to the batik craftsmen because the quality is not good. This study uses an experimental design that identifies the characteristics of pure quality with the Taguchi method, comprising 4 each controllable factor has 2 levels, number of levels and there are factors that can be determined number of rows for matrix orthogonal array is 8 so that the fit is orthogonal array L8(27). The results of this study are the factors that affect the outcome of product design Tegal batik is batik fabric, coloring, dyeing and pelilinan, from the analysis of variance and the mean SNR gives the results calculated F is greater than F table means that all factors significant resistance to color fade Soap, color fastness against rubbing Cain, and Cain Tensile Strength and elongation while setting the optimum level of level of quality of the design as a basis for improving the quality of products Tegal batik is batik on fabric using Primissima Mori Butterfly, coloring with Naphthol color, dyeing for 50 minutes and 70°C pelilinan.Keywords: Setting Optimal Level, Taguchi Method, Fade Resistance Colors Rubbing
