- Abstract This Research entlited King iear Karya William Shakespeare: Sebuah Analisis Stuktural (king Lear By William Shakespeare: A Structural Analysis) is intended to (1) describle the structure of the novel in particular the theme, the character, and the setting, and (2) describe the moral teaching of the play. This research employs the qualitative method. To gather the data, the researcher visits several libraries such as the Gadjah Mada University and the Ahmad Dahlan University Library; he takes the data from the written documents found in those libraries. In analysing the data, the researcher uses Content Analysis Method. Some of important research findings are as follows. First, the drama entitled King Lear by William Shakespeare, the theme of which is about goodness is paid by worst discusses the conflict between King Lear and his daughters in the Kingdom of England. Second, King Lear by William Shakespeare, viewed from the stucture (plot, theme, characterization, setting), content, and its influence, can be regarded as a good play which deserves further study. In addition, the paly contains moral values which can be taken as a good lesson by the readers.
