- The people of West Nusa Tenggara Sumbawa have a different culture from other communities. Among other things, their culture in the field of marriage has undergone very rapid changes, especially in the social and cultural fields. This tradition still exists even though the current and previous practices have differences or there are things that are worshipful. The existence of this ceremony is still quite strong until now because the people who support it are always dynamic so that this traditional wedding ceremony is always developing according to the era. The purpose of this study is to determine what changes occur in the traditional wedding ceremony of the people of West Nusa Tenggara Sumbawa, namely in the social and cultural fields. This research method is to use a qualitative descriptive approach. The results obtained are that there has been a change in the traditional wedding ceremony of the Subawa tribe of West Nusa Tenggara in the social and cultural field, namely that the Sumbawa tribe was previously carried out only for religious purposes but now the implementation has been inserted with entertainment entertainment which aims to entertain the community. In addition, the traditional wedding ceremony of the Sumbawa Tribe also undergoes a change in meaning from religious to commodification. Nowadays, the commodification of traditional ceremonies has actually been marginalized.
