  • ABSTRAK Penelitian dilaksanakan di Balai Besar Pembibitan Ternak Unggul (BBPTU) Sapi Perah Baturraden. Materi penelitian adalah 140 catatan produksi susu laktasi pertama periode pencatatan tahun 2006 – 2011. Tujuan penelitian adalah (1) mengetahui deviasi penggunaan TIM dalam penaksiran produksi susu sapi perah dibandingkan dengan produksi susu nyata, dan (2) mengetahui perubahan peringkat individu sapi perah dari hasil evaluasi mutu genetik menggunakan TIM dibandingkan dengan produksi susu nyata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan produksi susu sapi perah (laktasi 1) rata-rata 4755,73 ± 919,50 liter dan taksiran TIM 5147,93 ± 1057,69 liter, umur rata-rata 833,68 ± 102,27 hari, dan jumlah hari pemerahan rata-rata 284,46 ± 76,16 hari. Penaksiran produksi susu sapi perah dengan TIM mendekati produksi susu nyata dengan korelasi 0,97 (P<0,01). Penggunaan taksiran produksi susu dengan TIM tidak mempengaruhi evaluasi mutu genetik sapi perah (P<0,01). Kesimpulan penelitian adalah (1) penaksiran produksi susu sapi perah dengan TIM memberikan tingkat akurasi yang relatif sama dengan produksi susu nyata, dan (2) taksiran produksi susu dengan TIM dapat digunakan untuk keperluan evaluasi mutu genetik sapi perah. Kata kunci : sapi perah, produksi susu, Test Interval Method (TIM), evaluasi mutu genetik ABSTRACT This research was conducted at Balai Besar Pembibitan Ternak Unggul (BBPTU) Sapi Perah Baturraden. The research materials were 140 first lactating milk production recording from the year of 2006 to 2011. The research objectives were to know (1) the deviation of TIM use in the assessment of milk production of dairy cows compared to real milk production, and (2) the change of individual ratings of dairy cattle based on genetic evaluation of the quality of the results using the TIM compared to real milk production. The results showed that dairy cow milk production (lactation 1) had an average of 4755.73 ± 919.50 liters and that estimated was TIM 5147.93 ± 1057.69 liters, the average age of 833.68 ± 102.27 days, and the number of days milking average of 284.46 ± 76.16 days. The assessment of milk production of dairy cows using TIM approached real production with correlation of 0.97 (P<0.01). The estimation of milk production by TIM did not affect the evaluation of the genetic quality of dairy cows (P<0.01). The conclusion of the study was that (1) the assessment of milk production by TIM method gives the similar results relative to the level of accuracy of real milk production in dairy cows, and (2) estimated production of milk by the TIM can be used for evaluation of the genetic quality of dairy cows.
