- oleh I Ketut Yarta ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mendeskripsikan peningkatan aktivitas belajar matematika siswa melalui media permainan memancing di kelas dasar V tuna grahita sedang, (2) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa tuna grahita sedang (C1) melalui media permainan memancing di kelas dasar V tuna grahita sedang pada SLB/C Kemala Bhayangkari Tabanan, (3) mengetahui kendala-kendala yang dihadapi oleh siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan media permainan memancing. Pelaksanaan penelitian yang didasarkan pada hasil observasi langsung di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa masalah yang ditemukan berkaitan dengan proses pembelajaran matematika. Upaya mengatasi masalah tersebut difokuskan pada masalah aktivitas dan hasil belajar matematika. Perlu dilakukan proses pembelajaran dengan media permainan memancing untuk meningkatkan kemampuan belajar matematika siswa kelas dasar V tuna grahita sedang (C1). Peningkatan kemampuan belajar matematika melalui permainan memancing adalah fokus tindakan. Penelitian ini berlangsung tiga siklus. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode observasi untuk aktivitas belajar dan hasil belajar menggunakan tes pilihan ganda dengan jumlah item soal 10. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan kemampuan belajar matematika melalui permainan memancing. Dalam pelaksanaannya ditemukan ada beberapa kendala, yaitu kesiapan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, kemampuan dasar siswa untuk membilang dan kedisiplinan siswa dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Kata kunci: peningkatan kemampuan belajar matematika, permainan memancing, anak tunagrahita. IMPROVING MATHEMATIC LEARNING ABILITY OF THE MEDIUM MENTALLY RETARTED STUDENTS OF SLB/C KEMALA BHAYANGKARI THROUGH FISHING GAMES by I Ketut Yarta ABSTRACT The study was conducted in order to: (1) describe the improvement of learning activities in mathematics by using fishing game for the medium mental disability students of basic class V, (2) find out the improvement of learning achievement in mathematics for the medium mental disability students basic class (C1) by using fishing game at Kemala Bhayangkari SLB/C (Disable school), (3) figure out the problems encountered by the students in learning mathematics based on fishing game. The result of direct observation indicated that there were some problems found in relation to mathematics instructional process. The solution of the problems focused on the activities and achievement of learning mathematics. It was necessary to conduct a process of learning mathematics by using fishing game in order to improve the achievement in learning mathematics for medium mental disability students consited four males, and two females. It was conducted at the even semester in 2010-2011 by employing an action based approach in three different cycles focusing on the use of fishing game. The data were collected by observation in particular for learning activities, and ten items of multiple choice test to assess the students learning achievement. The result indicated that were was an improvement in the student ability in mathematics when learning was carried out based of fishing game.
