- In the era of democracy, Muslims should learn to accept the difference of opinion, do not limit Muslims who will commit ijtihad and issue their opinion and learn to appreciate each other. In the era of democracy, the majority view certainly will be very influential in the decision-making, but it could not be imposed for granted especially when that view have violated or interfered the civil rights of citizens, or contain elements of discrimantion. Muslims may need to learn to accept the principles of democracy, because even democracy is not the best way to organize the state but “it is the best among the worse” said Churcil.
