- Code-switching is a natural phenomenon that consists of alternating two or more languages. People who can speak and write two languages fluently are known as the "bilingual," and they frequently switch from one language to another in their conversation, a process known as code switching. This research focused on the uses of Code Switching they are tag switching, inter sentential switching and intra-sentential switching. The researcher would like to analyze the Indonesian-English Code Switching on Blog of English Education Department Students at Seventh Semester of IAIN Padangsidimpuan. This research used descriptive qualitative as a method of the research. Then, the researcher selected the blog of English Education Department students as the primary of data sources. Then, the data collection was using document technique and for checking the trustworthiness of the thesis, the researcher used member checking of data source. Based on the analysis of findings, the researcher has known that code switching on blog has been occurred 95 times. There were three code switching that had been occurred on blog of English Education Department Students namely 18 times for tag switching, 28 times for inter-sentential code switching, 49 times for intra sentential code switching, It might be seen from the percentage the percentage for tag switching was 19%, inter-sentential code switching was 29,4% and intra sentential code switching was 51,6%, From the explanation, the type of code switching that occurred dominantly was intra-sentential code switching.
