- The aims of research were to know the students’ problem in reading comprehension of the grade VIII at MTsN Batang Angkola and to know the effort done by students in overcoming the students’ problem in reading comprehension of the grade VIII at MTsN Batang Angkola. This research was done in MTsN Batang Angkola. The sources of data were student of the grade VIII-4. The kind of the research is qualitative research by using descriptive method. The instrument of collecting data were observation and interview After the research was done, it can be known that the students’ problem in reading comprehension of the grade VIII at MTsN Batang Angkola, The students’ problem understood the specialized vocabulary, the problem of student were interest in reading, the problem of student understood the question and the problem of student were forget what students read. The students’ effort to anticipate the students’ problem in reading comprehension will often to read, study hard, repeat the lesson, more concentration in read, often to open dictionary, diligent to read and learn by heart 50 vocabularies a week.
