- This research discussed about the comparative study between boarding school and high school graduation students’ vocabulary mastery at TBI fourth semester STAIN padangsidimpuan. The researcher formulated the problems: is there any difference between boarding school and high school graduation students’ vocabulary mastery?. The research was conducted by quantitative by using statistics method. The population of this researches was all of TBI students fourth semester Stain Padangsidimpuan, The total of population was 135 students. Than the sampel of the research was 30 students. After calculating the data there is differences between boarding school and high school graduation students where, the students vocabulary in boarding school can be seen in means of it is 73,66 and the students ability of vocabulary in high school graduation can be seen in means of it is 64,13. So that, the hypotesis was accepted. It was concluded that there was the different between boarding school graduation students and high school graduation students vocabulary mastery at TBI fourth semester Stain Padangsidimpuan.
