- Know-Want to Know-Learned (KWL) Strategy is introduced by Ogle as instructional reading strategy contains three column chart presented in a worksheet or written on the whiteboard. This strategy involves three steps which leads the students in stating their knowledge about the topic in column K, generating list of questions about what they want to learn in column W and reflect what they have learned in column L. This research aims to know the implementation of KWL strategy towards students reading comprehension. In other words, the researcher conducted the research to see the learning process and students’ reading comprehension in using KWL strategy and students’ responses in reading through KWL strategy. The design of this research is descriptive with quantitative method. The data were obtained by using several techniques including: documents and interview. Meanwhile, quantitative data were analyzed by scoring data, tabulation and coding. The result of data showed that KWL Strategy was effective towards students’ reading comprehension. It can be seen from the scores of students’ KWL worksheet. Besides, Students mostly had positive responses to KWL strategy.
