- THE EFFECT OF USING MACROMEDIA FLASH 8 ON TEACHING SIMPLE PAST TENSE TO THE FIRST GRADE STUDENTS OF SMAN 2 SINTANGThis research aimed to investigate whether the use of Macromedia Flash 8 was more effective than white board media on teaching simple past tense to the first grade students of SMAN 2 Sintang. This research is classified as a quasi-experimental study. The population of this research were 257 students of tenth grade, and the samples were 74 students. The class which chosen as the Experimental Group was taught using Macromedia Flash 8 as the treatment while Class which chosen as the Control Group was taught using white board media that the teacher uses every teaching. In the beginning of the study, both of Experimental and Control Groups were given a pre-test to measure the student’s initial simple past tenses mastery in the form of a multiple-choice consisting of 25 questions and post-test was given after the treatments
