- Improving Students’ Mastery Of Simple Present Tense Through Climbing Grammar Mountain Game To The Eight Grade Students Of SMP N 16 PontianakThe research was conducted in order to Improving Students’ Mastery of Simple Present Tense through Climbing Grammar Mountain Game to the Eight Grade Students of SMP N 16 Pontianak This research was done by using Classroom Action Research method to solve the problems faced by the students. This research was conducted at the Eight Grade students of SMP N 16 Pontianak. Here, the researcher used purposive sampling as the sampling technique by choosing VIII B as research sample that consist of 33 students. To collect the data qualitative, the researcher used observation checklist table and field note, were covered in observation technique which done during teaching learning process. While, quantitative data collection was taken from simple present tense test in multiple choice which conducted in the end of each cycle. In the process of teaching and learning has become the evidence that climbing Grammar mountain game improve students’ mastery of simple presen tense. However, it can be seen from cycle to cycle where the students have good understanding in used usage, subject – verb agreement and adverb. The observation checklist and field note from each cycle also have proved that in the climbing grammar mountain game the students became more active and more enthusiast in this teaching learning process. The students also have improving of simple present tense from the students’ simple present test. However most of students got the increasing score from cycle to cycle.
