- An AnalysisOnStudents’ Difficulties towards Leaning English(ADescriptive Studyat the Eighth Grade Students of SMPN 4 Siantaninthe Academic Year 2015/2016). This research was aimed to find outthe students’ difficulties in learning English.This research was conducted throughdescriptive study.Then, the subject of research was the students of class VIII of SMP N 4Siantanconsisting of twenty five students. This research usedindirect communicationas the technique of data collection, while the tools of data collection were questionnaire and observation. Then, the data analyses used in this research wasquantitative analysis using statistical calculations. Thisdescriptive research was done by giving the questionnaire to the students as the respondents; there are four options for the students (always, sometime, seldom and never). Then, theresult of this research showed that the dominate factor which made the students difficult in learning English that cause by external factor especially in culture and status because the percentage is higher and its supported by the students’ responses who chose negative respond (seldom and never)
