- Improving Students’ Speaking Skill Through Retelling Technique (A Classroom Action Research to the Eight Grade Students of MTs Al-Mustaqim I Kecamatan Sungai Raya Kabupaten Kubu Raya in Academic Year 2016/2017)The research was conducted in order to investigated how the improvement of students’ speaking skill after being taught through the implementation of retelling technique to the eighth grade students of MTs Al-Mustaqim 1 Sungai in academic year 2015/2016. The form of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR).The subject of this research is 40 students of VIII C class. Techniques of data collecting used were observation technique and measurement technique. Field note, observation checklist, and speaking test were used as the tools to collect the data. Based on the result of research findings, shown that Retelling technique can improve students’ speaking skill. Retelling was successfully solved the students’ problem in speaking skill. It was proven from the improvement of students’ individual score. The students’ response toward the learning activity during the implementation of retelling proved that they were interested to the retelling activity, it shown by the students more active in the speaking activity. They were also had enriched the vocabulary and known how to arranged it into a good structure. It shown by the significant increased of the students’ score which proven the improvement from the first cycle, second cycle and to the third cycle. It can be concluded that the students like the activity in retelling and the teacher success in applying retelling technique in teaching speaking skill. Retelling technique could help the students to speak English with provided the situation and the idea what to say and made them easier to find the vocabulary. So, the teacher should consider to use this technique for the same typical of students’ problem in speaking
