  • Teaching Writing Recount Text and the Use of Dialogue Journal Writing (A-Pre-Experimental Research to the Eleventh Grade of SMK PGRI Pontianak).The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of Dialogue Journal Writing (DJW) as medium in teaching writing recount text to the eleventh grade of SMK PGRI Pontianak. DJW is one of kinds Personal Journal that researcher used in this research. This research was a-pre-experimental study. The population of this research was eleventh grade students consist of 81 students. Class eleventh TAV (Technique Audio Visual) was chosen as sample taken by using cluster random sampling. Technique of collecting the data used measurement technique and tool of collecting the data was writing test. The data were analyzed by using t-test. Moreover based on the findings of this research, it was found that using DJW to teaching writing recount text was effective. The effectiveness of DJW was analyzed by the effect size formula. The result of the effect size was categorized strong effect. From the result of paired t-test, it can be concluded that the test of students’ writing recount text after taught by DJW show t value is higher than t table. So, it can be concluded that hypothesis alternative (H a ) is accepted and null hypothesis (H 0 ) is rejected. Based on the findings above, it implied that DJW affect the students’ writing recount text. By seeing the result of this research, the researcher suggested to use DJW as one of alternative medium in teaching writing recount text.
