The purpose of this research was to find out whether the application of Dictogloss was effective in teaching listening comprehension to second semester students of English Department Study program in IKIP-PGRI Pontianak in the in the academic year of 2015/2016. This research conducted in form of one-group pre-test – post-test pre-experiment, with A Afternoon second semester students of English Department Study program in IKIP-PGRI Pontianak in the academic year of 2015/2016 as the sample. The result of the experiment showed that the application of Dictogloss was effective in teaching listening comprehension to second semester students of English Department Study program in IKIP-PGRI Pontianakin the academic year of 2015/2016. During the pre-test, students listening score only sum up to 1577.5 with lowest score 25 and highest score 77.5. After the treatment the score of students’ listening comprehension improved. The score collected from the post-test sum up to 2310.10 with lowest score 60 and highest score 95. These score indicating that the application of Dictogloss can affect students’ listening comprehension
