- Analysis on Students’ Attitude Towards Learning English Language Based on Gender (A Descriptive Study at the Eighth Grade Students of SMPN 1 Boyan Tanjung in the Academic Year of 2015/2016)”. The main purposes of this research were to find out the attitude level of male students, the attitude level of female students and the difference between male and female students’ attitude towards learning English language (at the Eighth Grade Students of SMPN 1 Boyan Tanjung in the Academic Year of 2015 / 2016). This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Boyan Tanjung to get data of students’ attitude towards learning English language based on gender. The researcher conducted the research for three classes of VIII grade that consisted of VIII A, VIII B and VIII C with the total number of students was 71 students, 35 male students and 36 female students. The researcher used a descriptive method to identify students’ attitude level, both male and female students and the difference between male students’ attitude and female students’ attitude. The researcher used questionnaire as tool for collecting data. Furthermore, researcher analyzed the data by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
