  • Based on the results of Wahid Foundation's research, Yenny Wahid in the middle of an inclusive village workshop at Grage Hotel Cirebon in collaboration with the Community Building Village Movement (GDM) in 2016, said that the tendency of people to hold intolerant behavior and views wrapped in the name of religion continues to increase Moreover, it was proven by the release of several media which mentioned that the province of West Java was one of the provinces with the highest cases of intolerance and radicalism in Indonesia. As a province with a majority Muslim population plus several pesantren educational institutions, this is counter-productive. In this study, this study wants to show how the learning or education process in Islamic boarding schools in responding to the discourse of intolerance and radicalism in the name of religion to ward off Islamic boarding schools is considered a "den of terrorists". Through qualitative methods and field approaches conducted at Al-Asy'ariyah Wanayasa boarding school and boarding school Nurul Jadid Bojong, it is explained that there are still views in boarding schools that are not ready to accept and process learning with an inclusive approach so that this has an impact on religious understanding which is not open enough yet.
