  • Circumcision is cutting penis prepuce so that penis glans opened by applying minor surgery. Circumcision can affect perception and children psychological readiness. Children perception in facing circumcision is different one another and it can affect children psychological readiness in facing circumcision. This study uses cross sectional design in order to analyze the relationship of perception with the children psychological readiness in facing circumcision toward Elementary School students at SDN Sidomulyo 02 Silo Districts Jember Regency. The population of this study is boy at the age of 7-12 years old that do not do circumcision yet. The population of the study is 47 respondents. The sample collection technique uses purposive sampling. The instrument used is questioner sheet and Likert scale. The result shows 42 respondents (89.4%) have positive perception in facing circumcision and the rest 5 respondents have negative one. From 44 respondents (93.6%) have optimal psychological readiness and the rest 3 respondents (6.4%) are not quite optimal. The result analysis uses Spearmen rho test (α = 0.05) showing p value = 0,000 where p < 0.05 that means there is relationship between perception with children psychological readiness in facing circumcision. Suggestion for children’s parents and medical official is to introduce the advantages of circumcision toward children early in order to optimize their perception and psychological readiness in facing circumcision.
