digital media especially in English classroom at English Department of Bung
Hatta University. The limitation of this research was the students’ perceptions
toward the use audio media and audio visual media in English classroom at
English Department of Bung Hatta University.
The population of this study was the second year students academic 2020 in
English Department of Bung Hatta University. The researcher used total sampling
technique which is taken with the certain consideation. The number of the sample
as respondents in this research was 37 students. The researcher used questionnaire
as instrument. To analyze the data the researcher used Alpha formula.
After analyzing the data the researcher found that second year students’
perceptionss toward digital media were very good (5%), good (78%), and fair
(19%). Second, students’ perceptionss toward the use of audio media were very
good (5%), good (65%), and fair (30%). Third, students’ perceptions toward the
use of audio visual media were very good (13%), good (70%), fair (14%) and
poor (3%).
Finally, based on the findings, it could be concluded that the second year
students’ perceptionss toward the use of digital media in English classroom at
English Department of Bung Hatta University was good. The lecturers need to
explore many kind of media and use them in the classroom. Students must
increase their willingness when learning English by using digital media. The next
researcher is suggested to conduct a study about students perceptions toward the
use of e-learning in teaching and learning process.
