  • In this study, the writer analyze about the main character’s traits that indicate agoraphobia which are pictured in The Woman in the Windowby A.J. Finn. This research has two purposes: (1) to analyze the symptoms and causes of agoraphobia on the main character and (2) to analyze the effects of agoraphobia on the main character. In analyzing this novel, the writer used psychology of literature offered by Wellek and Warren. The writer applies the data uses approach by National Health Service (2018) theory. The theory symptoms of agoraphobia are physical symptoms, cognitive symptoms, and behavioral symptoms and causes of agoraphobia are experiencing a stressful event, mental illness, and alcohol. The writer does a technique of close reading based on psychology of literature approach. And the writer also used method descriptive to explain data and topic. There are two effects of agoraphobia namely effect to the main character and effects to other people. Keyword: Agoraphobia, symptoms, causes, effect,
