  • Penelitianinibertujuanuntukmemperoleh informasi faktual mengenai pengaruh dan perbedaanantara metodelatihanpiramid danpiramidterbalikterhadappeningkatanhipertrofi otot dadadan kekuatan otot dada.Penelitianinimenggunakanmetodepenelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitianpretest-posttest design. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu atlet binaraga Jawa Barat berjumlah 20 orang, teknik pengambilansampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sampel sebanyak 8 orang kemudian dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu yang menggunakanmetodelatihanpiramid sebanyak 4 orang dan piramidterbalik4 orang.Waktu penelitian selama satu bulan setengah, jumlah latihan 16 kali pertemuan, denganfrekuensi latihan tiga kali seminggu di beberapa fitness center di Kota Bandung. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan meteran pita dan skinfold calliper untuk mengukur hipertropi otot dada dan tes bench press untuk mengukur kekuatan otot dada.Hasiltemuan penelitianiniadalah(1) terdapatpengaruhyang signifikan metode latihan piramidterhadappeningkatanhipertrofi otot dada. (2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode latihan piramid terbalik terhadap peningkatan hipertrofi otot dada. (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode latihan piramid terhadap peningkatan kekuatan otot dada. (4) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode latihan piramid terbalik terhadap peningkatan kekuatan otot dada. (5)tidak terdapat perbedaan yangsignifikanantarametodelatihanpiramid dan piramid terbalik terhadap peningkatan hipertrofi otot dada dan kekuatan otot dada. Kata kunci: Hipertrofi Otot, Kekuatan Otot, Latihan Beban, Metode Latihan Piramid, dan Metode Latihan Piramid Terbalik This study aimed to obtain factual information on the effect and the difference between pyramid and the inverted pyramid training methods to increase chest muscle hypertrophy and chest muscle strength. This research used experimental research study design pretest-posttest design. The population in this study is 20 athlete of West Java, the sampling technique used purposive sampling, a sample of eight people were then divided into two groups: the pyramid training method as many as 4 people and 4 inverted pyramid. When the study for a month and a half, the number of training 16 sessions, with a frequency of exercise three times a week at fitness centers in the city of Bandung. The research instrument using the meter ribbon and skinfold calliper to measure chest muscle hypertrophy and bench press test to measure the strength of the chest muscles. The findings of this study were (1) significantly difference pyramid training method to increase the chest muscle hypertrophy. (2) there is significantly effect of the inverted pyramid training methods increase the chest muscle hypertrophy. (3) there is significantly influence pyramid training method to increase the strength of the chest muscles. (4) there is significantly effect inverted pyramid training method to the increase strength of the chest muscles. (5) there is not significantly difference between training methods pyramid and the inverted pyramid to increase chest muscle hypertrophy and chest muscle strength.
