- In 1995, a study of traditional medicine had been conducted among 4906 household members in Java and B. Medical Doctor colected data froni respondents by using a close ended questionaire. This study shows us that the Indonesian traditional medicine has been used by 30,7% of household members. There are significant different utilization between male and female and between respondents who live in rural and wban area. For health maintenance pupose is 64,31% and for diseases treatment 26J5. This study also founded that it's effect is 77,51%, and potentially to remain the sickness is 11,58%. This study also suggested to enhance the intersectoral research activity of Indonesian traditional medicine, especially in safety and pharmacological effect and its formulation development.
