- Abstract: Elections are a means of implementing people's sovereignty to directly elect political leaders. The election in 2019 is very interesting and special because it combines the five processes of political leadership election. Among the five simultaneous electoral processes, the election of the president and vice president became a very important election process that attracted attention.One form of campaign carried out by presidential candidates is through debate. In a debate participant need to express their ideas or ideas well in order to attract an audience. Therefore, a discourse analysis from a review of cohesion and coherence in the 2019 president and vice-presidential debate is interesting. This study discusses (1) the grammatical aspects of the first presidential and vice-presidential debate in 2019, (2) the grammatical aspects of the 2019 president and vice president's first debate discourse, and (3) the context and cultural context of the 2019 presidential and vice-presidential discourse. The agih method is used as the data analysis method. The results showed that the grammatical tools used were reference, ellipsis, recovery, and sequencing; and lexical repetition, synonymy, antonymy, and collocation tools. Contexts surrounding discourse can be known based on locational interpretation, personal interpretation, and temporal interpretation.Abstrak: Pemilu merupakan sarana pelaksanaan kedaulatan rakyat untuk memilih pemimpin politik secara langsung. Pemilu pada 2019 sangat menarik dan istimewa karena menggabungkan lima proses pemilihan pimpinan politik. Di antara lima proses pemilu serentak tersebut, pemilihan presiden dan wakil presiden menjadi proses pemilihan yang sangat penting sehingga menarik perhatian. Salah satu bentuk kampanye yang dilakukan oleh calon presiden adalah melalui debat. Dalam suatu debat peserta perlu mengungkapkan ide atau gagasan-gagasannya dengan baik agar menarik audiens. Oleh karena itu analisis wacana dari tinjauan kohesi dan koherensi debat presiden dan wakil presiden 2019 menarik dilakukan. Penelitian ini membahas (1) aspek gramatikal wacana debat pertama presiden dan wakil presiden 2019, (2) aspek gramatikal wacana debat pertama presiden dan wakil presiden 2019, dan (3) konteks situasi dan budaya wacana debat pertama presiden dan wakil presiden 2019. Metode analisis data yang dipakai ialah metode agih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan alat gramatikal yang digunakan ialah pengacuan, elepsis, penyulihan, dan peangkaian; dan alat leksikal repetisi, sinonimi, antonimi, dan kolokasi.Konteks yang melingkupi wacana dapat diketahui berdasarkan penafsiran lokasional, penafsiran personal, dan penafsiran temporal.
