- Research of toxicity test of industrial palm oil waste water to green alae (Closteriumgracile and Ulothrix implexa) has been conducted on March 2th - May 10th 2006 inLaboratorium of Water Quality Management, Fishery and Marine Science Faculty,University of Riau, Pekanbaru. Objective of this research is to determine the concentration ofa test material or the level of an agent that produces a deleterious effect on a green algae,during a short-time exposure under controlled condition. In this study, 96-h static toxicity testwere carried out using green algae as test organisms. Probit analysis using the computersoftware were used to calculate the 96-h LC50 depending on data suitability. The appliedmethod was using 3 experiments consisted of green algae culture for the first experiment,acute toxicity for the second one, and palm oil liquefied waste sublethal test toward greenalgae. Result of the 96-h LC50 and Biological Savety Level of the industrial palm oil wastewater were 26.368 m1/l and 0.26 m1/l respectively. Application factor for green algae pointwas 0.3-0.7.
