- Abstract- The tight competition on higher education increases rapidly in Kediri residency. University needs the proper promotion strategies to get prospective students. As the information technology advance very fast, it can be used to generate data from various sources. The purpose of this research is to help UNP Kediri’s marketing division in making promotion strategies. Data mining using algorithm K-means was used to compute students’ data set which was taken from academic center. The attribute data that was used in this research are students’ hometown, school status, and major. WEKA software was used to analyze the data. Information gained in this research can be used by marketing division to select the effective and efficient promotion strategies so that the promotion can reach proper target.
