- This article analyzes balance of payments in Indonesia in 2004. Indonesian balance of payments data showed that both current account and capital & financial account experience surplus position. But, current account surplus tends to decrease sharply. Therefore, Indonesia needs to increase its export competitiveness. In addition, although capital and financial account position is surplus but the government needs to improve investment climate which is conducive for investment growth in Indonesia.
