- This study tried to analyze the contribution of various macroeconomic variables suspected to have an impact on private investment. Data used for this study consisted of 26 provinces during the period 1990-2007, for which data has been obtained from various sources of government data to be included in the panel data series. The purpose of this study was to test the effects of economic growth, interest rates, government investment, inflation, credit availability of investment and exchange rates to private investment. The method used in this research is survey method with the explanatory approach. This research uses analysis tool Panel Data with a random effects model (REM) approach. Research conclusions is found empirical evidence that an increase in government investment, economic growth, exchange rate depreciation and investment credit availability will increase private investment, whereas the increase in inflation and interest rates will reduce private investment.
