- Static is not the same as dynamic, in financing its activity, a firm depends on its capital structure. Although underlying motivation for selecting proper capital structure remain a puzzle but the nature of financing activities is not static. This research attempts to study “why the nature of capital structure is dynamics”. This research used a sample of the 56 companies, which are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) of the period from 1998 to 2007. The analysis method used in this research was time series analysis. The research results indicated that firm did not have static pattern on its capital structure and its tend to fluctuate from time to time, based on time series analysis it is concluded that the capital structure in short term, mid term, and long term was dynamic.
