- Nursing documentation is a mechanism to evaluate the nursing care mechanisms. Nursing documentation, in accordance with the law, is a useful tool used fot measuring nursing cares accountability as well as nurses’responsibility. In this respect, this study aims to analyze the relationship between nurses’ motivation with completed documentation of nursing care in the Mitra Keluarga Surabaya Hospital Medical Surgical ward. This study is using cross-sectional analytic correlational approach. The population is 32 nurses with a sample of 30 nurses, taken using simple random sampling. The data are extracted using questionnaire and assessment evaluation report documentation. Latter, the data is analyzed using contingency coefficient approach. Based on the data result, nurses’ motivation at Mitra Keluarga Hospital mostly is high (73.3%). Meanwhile, completed documentation is accounted only among 19 out of 30 nurses (63.3%). The contingency coefficient calculation shows that p = 0,000 < α (0,05). Therefore, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that there is a relationship between nurses’ motivation and the
